Workbook, Manual, Practicum for The Handbook for the Recently Deceased
Instant (PDF) download $(24.95)
A companion book to The Original Handbook for the Recently Deceased this work serves as a Workbook, Manual and Practicum of useful exercises and experiments that one can do as practical exploration of the material presented in the original text.
Not to be confused with books of dissimilar title, this volume stands alone as the true guide to decorum and savoir-faire in the afterlife.
This manual is written for the really dense. That way i f I ever get around to reading it, I will have half a chance, or maybe even a whole chance of being able to work with the experiments contained here within.
This stuff that is given to do in the course of this practicum is called experiments. Exercises have the nasty reputation of not being for reals. You know, "king's x", "finger's crossed", "doesn't really count", "I'll bring my full attention to bear later when it really counts". Hence, we don't call the things to do in this practicum exercises.
Another nice aspect of referring to this stuff as experiments, is the definite hint that you don't necessarily know what is about to happen and you should pay close attention--so you shouldn't miss something. If you have ever done any research beyond simple collegiate level, you would be aware that no one else is any more cognizant of what is really about to happen than you are.Maxwell (not Maxwell Smart, the other guy) deduced a bunch of totally amazing equations from observation of electricity and magnetism using a few kitchen bowls and mason jars. Admittedly his bowls were machined to slightly better tolerances and his mason jars were hand-blown, but the general idea is the same--these were simple instruments and equipment.
There is nothing to prevent you from "going where no man has gone before." Given that you are probably dead. . . what the heck you may as well do it. Expect the unexpected and go for the postage.
By far the easiest way to make The Original Handbook for the Recently Deceased into a workbook is to wend and wile our way through the original text expanding sections into experiments as we go.
At this point I don't have any reason to not do things the easier way; so why not buckle down to, put the nose to the grind stone, head into the wind and just do it?
As a matter of form, material from the original text of The Originial Handbook for the Recently Deceased is in bold-italics. We won't be reproducing every single paragraph--we're not total loons. We will, however, be working with the material in the same sequence as the original text. In this way you can more or less find your way around in the original text to related paragraphs for additional background information. You can also review some of the better jokes this way.
Okay, so here we go, ready or not .....
